Zuni Indian Ladybug Necklace Kit
Zuni artist, Georgette Quam, always believed that a ladybug meant good luck. It inspired her to carve this whimsical fetish made of apple coral, black onyx, and turquoise. We've never before seen a ladybug fetish and love the charm and inventiveness of it! Georgette Quan is part of a new generation, honoring past traditions and creating her own.

The necklace is strung with sixteen Mediterrian coral beads, eight beads of 4mm black onyx and a strand of 2-3mm Kingman, Arizona block jet heishi. The ladybug fetish measures approximately one inch long and one-half inch wide. Kit finishes to 26" and includes sterling silver crimps, clasp, and end beads, stringing material, instructions.

The thunderbird is a metaphor for the eagle who promised the ancient Pueblo Indians to deliver their prayers to God. This thunderbird is made for us by Zuni Indian carver, Garrick Acque. The pendant is hand-carved black stone with etched designs, an inlaid turquoise eye and signed by the artist on the back. Combined with twelve sterling silver beads, six turquoise beads, and black stone rondelles, it makes a powerful statement about southwestern spirituality.

This kit is suitable for men or women. For a longer necklace, you can add more black stone rondelles for $1.00 per inch.
