These legendary Venetian glass trade beads have been continiously made in Italy from the late 1600s to modern times and were named by Native Americans who favored them greatly and noted their white core. Traded by the Hudson Bay Company and carried by countless European explorers to the New World, these beads have been collected by tribal people from Africa to Peru, from Arizona to Alaska, Canada, Nova Scotia and myriad stops in between. These beads date circa 1900 A.D. and measure approximately 24 inches of beads plus approximately three inches of wound cotton on the back. White Hearts come with a short monograph on their history and lore. $30.00 per strand. |
