The Zunis are noted for their creative rendering of animals in jewelry and fetishes. The owl represents the essence of wisdom in Zuni cosmology. The earrings are constructed with Cypraea Tigris shell, Mother-of-Pearl, Black Onyx, and Sterling Silver. The owl piece is 1-1/2" long and the ear wire adds 3/4" to the length of the earring. (Note: we have taken one of the owl pieces and used it for a pendant in a child's necklace.)
