Description   The ceaseless roaming of wild horses across the western plain led the Zuni Indians to recognize their power of protection for herds. The horse also possesses healing powers according to Zuni cosmology. Navajo sheepherders and tribes to the north came to Zuni early on to trade for horse fetishes. This graceful Pipestone horse fetish, measuring approximately 7/8" high and 1 1/2" wide, is carved for us by Zuni artist, Carol Martinez. It comes pre-wrapped in sterling wire. Strung with 2mm Pipestone and 2mm Arizona turquoise heishi, eight 3mm sterling silver beads, the kit finishes to 22", and includes a layout of the design, instructions, stringing material, sterling silver clasp, and crimps. Price is for one kit.
